Subject to proper arrangements ap to slepp and exercise, as mentioned in Rule 2, Sieters in charge of private cases are required to devote all their time to the patient and to perform their duties with precision.

They are expected to cause as little inconvenience az possible to the household and to do their utmost to gain the confidence of their patients end those inmediately connected with them, thus becoming a source of help end comfort to all concerned. They should also remember that it is strictly their duty to hold confédential the knowledge which, to a certain extent, they must acquire of the private affairs of the householde er irēividual
patients.
Sisters should, if possible, have their meals in a room apart from the patient. They shall arrange es to the proper hours for sleep and exercise with due regard to the velfare of the patient
and the convenience of the household.
3.
They shall weit upon the medical attendant and be nost
careful in noting and carrying out his instructions. They all sec
that the neurismnt ordered is prepared and served in as inviting
form as possible and that every thing is clean for the retient's use.
They shall insure that the sick roun is kapt in order and
well ventilated and shall perfom any office which the nature of the
Case my require.
5.
They mu not give up attendance on a case without express
permission from the doctor in charge, In case of any dispute or mis-
understanding the Sister must write to the Su erintendent of the

Civil Hospital, ex laining the stromstances and ask for instructions

When the Sister is no longer required at a case she must
return immediately to her quarters and at once notify the Matron,
